ABOUT: This painting grew out of a question – What is America? There is no simple answer to this as there are many, many answers. None conclusive. Yet I observe patterns and respond to daily headlines. We’re acutely aware of the seemingly endless stream of violent crime in the U.S., and we readily see how we’re all consumed by the self-absorptive nature of our present technology. We (some of us) are overtly inwardly absorbed, yet disconnected and disengaged with the outer world surrounding us. This is not a criticism. This is how it is, for some of us.
