About: Speaking as a yoga teacher, our back body represents the unknown. We never actually see our backs. A mirror or photographs is but a reflection. When we arch into a backbend, we are reaching into a place we’re not familiar with, the unknown. This can be both frightening and exhilarating. The more often we explore this space, the more familiar it becomes. Then the unknown becomes the known, the familiar. Here, the model is confidently extending into that great potential of ourselves.
