About: “Walkabout” refers to the Australian aboriginal practice of journeying over a vast area. The walkabout may last months or even years, but eventually the traveler returns to their starting place—with a fresh perspective. As we journey in life, we may circle back to familiar places, but with a new understanding.

About: For a time, I lived in far northern Australia where I contacted Aboriginal culture and art. I intentionally adopted one of the indigenous styles, though made it contemporary. As I have observed in Aboriginal art, there appears to be a simple pattern, yet under closer scrutiny we see contradictions to our assumptions.

About: My many years of travel, especially in Asia where I feel in sync with Buddhist and Taoist philosophies, very much have this feel of perpetual movement. In the West, our concept of time is linear, but in the East, there is no beginning or end. There is just flow.
