ABOUT: From a series titles Scenes from a Marriage that looked at the dynamics of relationships. Humor is a big part of these works. By working on a page from a coloring book, there is a fun interplay between all the images. The creates layers of meaning and associations, and more complexity.

ABOUT: My model is very active. She runs and rock climbs. It is evident in the strength of her body, and in the confident stride. The pose is about movement, transition, and passing through. The angel image with the mirror speaks to us about the ephemeral nature of life. The image is intended to bring us to contemplate this all too quickly passing life.

ABOUT: Purity is one of the Seven Heavenly Virtues, as opposed to the Seven Deadly Sins. I decided to take a twist on the virtue where nudity (a book on nudes) is being censored (tossed in the trash). Figure art has long struggled with puritan values and faced censorship. I personally experience this with a social media site that limits what kind of figure art can be posted. Violence is accepted, yet the unclothed body is not permitted. This is a subject very close to me. I recognize social norms, yet see how prudish values dominate conduct.
