ABOUT: My model chose the straw hat and fan as props, and chose the pose. The title adds a provocative edge that goes beyond the basics elements of the pose, hat, and fan.

ABOUT: I have done multiple versions of this pose with the same title. I find the pose dynamic, and the optics engaging. It’s simple, yet provocative. I prefer that which seems understated, yet reverberates on a deeper level when contemplated.

ABOUT: In each studio session, I respond to the temperament, personality, and vibe of the model. I encourage him/her to bring items that express their interests, values, and identity. The boots, the collar, and the dagger are very her. She has a cool, tough, hip street look, though is very ‘tender.’

ABOUT: My model grew up in Texas, so when I suggest she bring anything to the session relevant to her identity, she came with cowboy/cowgirl gear. The pose and title naturally came out of her Texan upbringing.There is something a bit confrontational and self-assured here.

ABOUT: One of my most favorite models for her inhibition and comfort in her sexuality. We had decided to do a session of explicit poses, and she was pleased to be able to demonstrate her inventiveness. Her joy comes through in the poses she created.
